Sleepyhedz, B.U.M.S., and a fake a– Redman.

Show – July ’95 (i think)
All I know is we were really tired. You can actually hear it. Cats were dragging…so lots of non-music activities followed. Tired minds, a microphone, and 30,000 watts is a recipe for silly season. “Or” (from the Bums) does some real nonchalant shout outs.

Part 1 – Seyfu spins. The BUMS debut “The Bumrush”.

Part 2 – Classic PRB snafus. 2 month old news feed. Break goes real long b/c Seyfu “goes Redman” on us and freestyles….multiple times.

Back….like blau!

Show – Sept. 95 (according to Seyfu)
Apparently we were “back” for some reason. We never ever got suspended. I have no idea what we were talking about. But then again that’s the norm for most of our shows. Seyfu and D open the show. 30-minute sets so we got about 3 sets on one 90 min tape.
Part 1 – Seyfu spins.

Part 2 – D does lots of shouts. Seyfu spins again.

Lack of Mad Heads Night

This is one of the many many tapes with no date. I need help trying to put a date on this one. Leave a post with possible dates. I’m thinking late ’93 or early ’94 based on the intro track.

J and D open the show. J spins.

Part 1 – J spins.

Part 2 – Big O and Faze X do the rundown and the shout outs. J spins again.

If you were a DJ…you’d understand…

Show – May 20th, 1993
This is one of the earlier shows after the jump to Thursdays and into the old Raw Deal slot. This is definitiely one of the the most “classic” Vibes shows of all times. In a nutshell, we had no turntables that night so we tried to mix off the board equipment (not real fresh). So we ended up doing just about anything to fill the 3 hours, poetry, freestyles, lots of shout outs…and of course pure buggin’. All kinds of people in the studio: D, Seyfu, ESV…Alison is the guest board op, D. Crum is on the prose. Seyfu and D. Crum recite the classic “Shields Up”. Like I said…no turntables.

Part 3 – Why part 3? Because this is tape is from set 3. I can’t find the first half tape.

Part 4 – Ace and BUMS quick freestyle

The Transmitter is up!

Show – March 10, 1993 – “The Transmitter Is Up – Post Prince”
This is another early show but it’s a rare Wednesday all-house show. Apparently the sorta-legendary Prince Show was the week before and I guess the main transmitter was down (as was fairly common) and we were on the dorm transmitter. I never realized that particular show was only local (on campus and maybe into Trenton)…ah the legend deepens. First cut is actually a Poisoned Ivy house track. That must be why we started with house that night. J and Sel hosting, D on 1′s and 2′s, ESV was MIA. Sel goes “house god” in part 2.

Dangerous Orgasms?

Show – Dec 16, 1992  – “Dangerous Orgasms?”.

This is an early show.  J read a lot of PSAs and even the weather.  ESV was co-hosting.  D is on the tables (i think).  Bize and AGP stopped by.

Part 1

This is the Vibes and Vapors Show…

This is the history of the infamous Vibes and Vapors Show…. or at least a place to reminisce and remember that which was 1992 to 1997 on WPRB on a Wednesday/Thursday night.  Just a bunch of (actual) college kids trying to forget about studying for a few hours and put on a good show.  Post thoughts, memories, and if you’ve got tapes (especially on mp3)…let us know!  The cassette recorder at the station was never in the best shape, nor was a lot of the other equipment for that matter.  We used to call that “flavor”.  Enjoy.

Currently there are about 30 shows posted so please dig through previous months in the archive links over on the right side.
